Recovery of tin from Cu3Sn + Pb smelting residue

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet treatment method particularly suitable for treating a Sn-containing raw material mainly containing an intermetallic compound Cu3Sn and metallic Pb, such as refining dross produced in a lead smelting process. SOLUTION: The method for recovering Sn from an Sn-containing raw material includes: a step (1) of stirring the Sn-containing raw material in hot concentrated sulfuric acid to slurry; a step (2) of obtaining a leachate containing dissolved Sn, by adding water or sulfuric acid to the slurry; or further a step (3) of heating the leachate to 60[deg.]C or higher to obtain an Sn-containing precipitate.

In the step (1), the hot concentrated sulfuric acid to be used is a concentrated sulfuric acid containing 80% or higher sulfuric acid (before being mixed with the Sn-containing raw material), and is stirred at 60[deg.]C or higher. In the step (2), Sn is leached at 50[deg.]C or lower
