Beanz meanz a screw-top jar

Factiva: "FOR 115 years, Heinz have been serving up everybody's favourite snack in a tin.

But times change - and shoppers will soon find the brand's baked beans on sale in a plastic screw-top jar.

From September, beanz meanz a resealable fridge pack.

Unlike the traditional tins, the packs will allow people to spoon out as many beans as they like before screwing back the top and putting the rest in the fridge.

The 1kg packs hold the equivalent of more than two 415gram standard tins of baked beans.

They come with a see-through measure on one side so hungry snackers can see instantly how many beans are left.

The six-inch pack has been shaped so it will fit in a shelf in the fridge. The whole redesign is the result of intense research and consumer focus groups.

Heinz say shoppers prefer 'more flexibility'.

But never fear, the original tins will still be on sale too."

Lithium storage performance of electrodeposited tin coatings as electrode material for lithium-ion battery

Scopus: "The electrodeposited tin coatings as electrode material for lithium-ion batteries were prepared by electroplating using copper foil as substrate, and their properties were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray energy dispersive analysis, X-ray diffractometry (XRD), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charge-discharge tests. The results show that the morphologies of the tin coatings may be effectively changed by adjusting the electroplating time.

The Sn coating with porous network structure obtained by electroplating for 5 min shows large irreversible capacity and good electrochemical-cycling stability. The dense granular tin coatings obtained by electroplating for longer time display larger reversible lithium storage capacity, but the capacity decay occurs during the electrochemical cycling. For the dense granular tin coatings, smaller tin grain size improves the lithium storage performance. The dense granular tin coating with smaller grain size obtained by electroplating for 15 min presents reversible capacity of 400 mAh/g after 30 cycles."
